Its probably similar to here in BR. 45-65 mph wind with light rain. Our power is out as well. Posting this from Blackberry. Probably a good amount of downed trees and powerlines. Getting something fixed in the coming months is going to be slow and expensive.
Thanks Brett! Yeah I'm looking at the WBRZ live feed and they're showing lots of pictures of downed trees.
We made it through the worst part of the storm okay out here in the Central area. Other than a lot of downed limbs and trees in the yard, we came out relatively unscathed. The power is out, but we're running on a generator for now. I'm not sure what it looks like around the city just yet as we have not ventured out. I hope everyone is still safe and is equally lucky.
They said that the entire parish is without power (unless running on emergency generators). The wind has died down considerably (which they said they expected to happen at about this time), so I believe they're about to get out there and try and get things going again.
Thanks for the update. Hopefully the row of pine trees that run along my neighbors property that are within reach of our house will still be there when we get back.
All but one of the pine trees at my sister's house in BR fell, plus two trees from the next door neighbor's. None hit the house thankfully. My parents, sister, and mom's parents are there (without power right now). Sounds like there's a lot of cleanup to be done, but that's alright.
No problem brother. I was hoping you wouldn't have to use it. Glad to hear everyone is okay though. Edit: Mom just called me on her cell....their power is out. :hihi: I didn't think Monroe would have problems with the storm coming straight at us. She said bring her the generator when you're done with it.
Morgan City is without power "for 6-10 days", and water and sewerage are out "indefinitely". My family and I didn't have a vacation this summer, so I guess we'll have it now.
