Unfortunately, we're not hearing from many of our Baton Rouge friends right now. News from my relatives is that it's a big ol' mess down there.
Just talked to my dad in Lafayette...said they got lucky, only lost power for 3 hours. I hear BR got crushed though. My step mothers brother lost his house near the Sherwood Forest area.
So here I am in DFW area, praying and hoping my family is safe back home, all the while hoping my family and friends (fellow Tiger fans included) in LA stay out of harms way. Well, so far it looks like everyone is at least safe. However, obviously the track was the worst possible scenario for Nootch and other friends I have in S LA...and to top it off, my parents house (about a mile from me) took a tornado, and one of their VERY large oaks came down. My parents were home...dad taking a nap.:hihi: The tree came down across their shed, and did a little damage to the corner of the house...where dad's bedroom is. The boys lost their swingset and soccer goal, and I lost my pirogue o:, one of my lawnmowers, and all my camping equipment.:angry:o::angryfire Their next door neighbor also lost two tree, and one of them took out the power lines for the whole area. (stupid aerial lines!) Fortunately, no damage to their home...just took out the fence. Here's a link to the tornado reports from today. http://www.weathermatrix.com/stormmatrix/tornado/ I'll try to post pics later...wifey has them on photobucket.
Maybe I should have said off Sherwood Forest street. Not too familiar with the area as I always hung out near campus....but if I remember correct, Sherwood Forest was off I-12 past Airline going east???
FWIW...I just got sent a link to a kick arse hurricane tracking site. You can also pull up every tropical system ever. Cool site http://www.stormpulse.com/
You should have a good time the next day or two. There has to be a lot of Vol fans around. If I was you, I'd get in the car right now and go find one to slap.
