Yes it's funny, even with an undefeated season and so many openings you don't hear his name getting thrown around.
Yes. His name is Bobby Petrino. My other choice would be to reach into the NFL and snag Jon Gruden. I think it could be done for the kind of benjamins LSU is paying Saban.
didn't LSU under saban lose to UAB at home? I just think your argument is fairly weak. purdue has a solid program that had a tough year due to a poor defense. tiller would be an excellent coach with his innovative offense mind. minn was picked to either win the big 10 or be in the top tier. although I think glenn mason is a good coach, he hasn't really taken them to the next level like many predicted. remember, he was the top candidate before saban woke up that december morning 3 years ago and flew to baton rouge.
yeah i would have liked petrino, too. but he just signed a new contract to stay w/ louisville. if saban MUST eventually leave, my ideal situation would be to keep him for a couple more years, then hire petrino when he's ready to move on to something better. you think we could get him regardless of his new negotiation?
Sure, you may get a LOT of substance (and a lot of soemthing else.... cough..... BS.....) from a TE press conference........ A SabanFan press conference on the other hand......................
In the unfortunate event that Saban disses us for the NFL (don't know why anyone would leave a major college program in light of a league of crybaby fans and owners), I would prefer that we promote from within. Let Jimbo or Muschamp get a chance. Seeing as both of them have already been mentioned as possible head coaches in the college ranks. But if we're intent on getting someone from outside, then, *sigh*, given his history as a college coach, Butch Davis would be my choice.
