why were the commentators saying there wouldnt have been enough time for another play had byrd not caught a td? would the clock have been reviewable had it gone down to 0 if he had dropped the ball with 3 sec left?
you need to watch that play one more time....clearly helmet to helmet. not having time to pull up is irrelevant. doesnt matter. it made the barner receivers think hard before catching another ball down field :thumb:
this is late, but since you decided to be a jerk i have to respond. nowhere did i pout about this win. nowhere. we're a dumb luck team, that's good and that's bad, that's just how it is. but for you all to run around like we deserve a national title because we're a "team of destiny" is completely ridiculous. we don't deserve crap. you earn it on the field, one game at a time... isn't that how the old cliché goes? you certainly don't run around thinking you're the best thing since sliced bread and nothing can deter you on your quest. especially when you win by less than a touchdown even though you had twice as much offense as the other team. you sound like florida fans.
Our fans leave me speechless. Lose a game, we suck. Don't win by 40, we suck. Just dumb luck, I guess.:dis:
It's not how you play the game but whether you win or lose... is that the way the cliché goes? /sarcasm Critique of our play last night shouldn't necessarily be glowing. If you don't care to discuss how we played and are simply here for the ride I can understand how you want to silence any criticism, but LSU is not beyond criticism. Whether we win or lose, a game was still played last night, with some great plays and gaffes on our part. Considering how the rest of the nation is struggling equally or worse than we are, maybe Tenebrism needs to take a step back, but watching the clock tick down to around 6 seconds before we finally snapped the ball is one example of making this win closer to a loss than it should have been.
I have no problems with fans critiquing the game, even when we win. Hell, we sit around in the parking lot after games doing just that. But for anyone to suggest our success is "dumb luck" is an insult to the players and coaches who bust their ass every game. We make our fair share of mistakes, but I have yet to see a team who doesn't. And if anyone didn't notice, Flynn played his best game as a Tiger and our offense rolled up almost 500 yards against a pretty good defense. It's all about perspective.
Our passing game sure looked better with Doucet in the game. I really hope LaFell can overcome whatever funk he's experiencing. I agree that no team, particularly this season, is firing on all cylinders (Florida might be the scariest team out there and they have two losses). I also agree that Tenebrism can be a little over the top in his criticism. Still, though we reduced the penalties, it's hard to say we're playing smart disciplined football with all the clock troubles... I think we'll really regroup after the bye week and bring it to Bama and whoever their coach is. Just another huge game waiting in the wings. Fair post, TigerWins.
ALL very good posts from good posters. That's what make TF such an enjoyable forum for Tiger fans.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
