based on offensive basketball skill, cj is the best in the sec, and maybe ncaa, since pete. his nba career wasnt so hot, but who cares? nba sucks worse than the nfl

    His NBA stats are here.
He did have some good games here and showed the ability to score 40 or 50
points in a game like Pete did but he was too inconsistant and probably ruined
his pro career because of religion, Islam.
I have read that he has built a mosque in Gulfport and has become an Imum.
CJ was the best in the SEC that I ever have seen offensively to this day
but keep in mind I was too young to remember Pete.

I will NEVER forget the excitement CJ created his freshman year, what that
    team was able to do.
The coach is either a genius or a goat from one year to another these days,
    correct?
I was still more excited to see what he would do versus Shaq or anyone else
    in an LSU uniform, why?
Its kinda like what they say about AI with the Nuggets.
The guard handles and distributes the ball about 80% of the time.
I'll take CJ over Shaq anyday but thats my personal preference.
I still can't believe that 1990? team didn't do better than they did.
That was one of the best college basketball teams of all time definitely the
best ever to dress out in an LSU uniform.

Crap. Elvis died in August shortly after my arrival in Baton Rouge for my freshmen year at LSU. I remember calling home to comfort my mother who I just knew would be squawlin'.
I hate this thread. I feel ancient.
On the brighter side, dammit, I can STILL climb the stadium steps. So I must be OK!

The amazing thing about CJ was he accomplished all that he did while heavily medicated to control his Tourette's Syndrome.
Imagine if he had been totally healthy.

Agreed regarding his NBA career but if you just focus on his college career I think he's up there with at least O'Neal and Pettit. It's a shame his jersey will likely never be retired. I mean the guy averaged 30.2 ppg as a Freshman. That should be enough right there to retire his jersey. Just my .02.
