1. Don't mix the issues. Marijuana is different from cocaine that doesn't really grow here. It's not going to make rug smugglers go away, but they will lose a huge market, which can't help but make them weaker.
  2. As you said, the grass is always greener. Nomadic tribes function under this very premise. The goose of their own that they seek is the one we already have.

Depending on who you listen to 3%-6% of our population is illegal. This is not an insignificant number. These illegals beget offspring who are citizens which create a new dynamic.

Going back to the first point. We have been giving eggs to people all over the world. The problem is they eat them or a few horde them instead of letting them hatch for the benefit of all. Now we are expected to give away eggs and look the other way while they take more eggs and eventually the goose.
  3. There are some cases where this is true, but so this egg analogy doesn't get out of control I'm going to limit my participation in this discussion to the eggs that are being taken by immigrants from the South of our country. :)

Mexico is an excellent example of where our country is headed if we don't reign in the upper class. The same class of people in this country responsible for our one-sided trade agreements. We as a country need to see the benefit of investing not just in our intellectual and social infrastructure, but our continent's intellectual and social infrastructure. Our focus should be not on stopping people from coming to our country illegally, but creating reasons for them to not come at all.

  4. Rugs are legal.
  5. true, i guess we should make these folks legal and have them pay taxes like the rest of us. that way they can do their part to pay for our infrastructure.
  6. what does that mean
  7. It means, like Obama, he is a Socialist.
  8. What's your source for the "increased numbers" because it's not accurate?

The race angle is so overblown. Reasonable suspicion of alienage doesn't need racial profiling to be effective.
