I've seen both used, too, but that makes no sense at all if you think about it. LSU goes 13-1, plays 13 of its 14 games in 2003...but one single game in 2004 that they played in because of the outcome of those 2003 games makes them 2004 champs???? Common sense tells you it's 2003, if only because all the regular season games are in one single year (2003).
Yes i am sure...on the inside of the stadium...on the scoreboard...it says 2004 National Champs..go look for yourself bud. :thumb:
We were the winners of the 2004 Suager Bowl, the 2003 national championship. The Patriots were the winners of Super Bowl XXXVIII and the 2003 season champiosnhip. It's on NFL.com under history. LSU was the winner of the 2004 Nokia Sugar Bowl and the winner of the 2003 National Championship. Look it up. It's on the NCAA Website and the LSU Website.
Correct. Regardless of what some people have said it is simply incorrect to say LSU is 2004 National Champions. Hopefully we will be that too. There is no such thing as either one is correct. We are 1958 Champions, not 1958 or 1959.
Should I throw my 1959 championship T-shirt away??? I think the bowl game thing is what throws some people off. We won the 2004 Sugar Bowl and I think people hear or read that and it messes them up!!!
I don't have a dog (or a tiger  ) in this discussion , but all of the reputable record keeping site I have seen, such as College Football Data Warehouse, call it the 2003 NC. Guess someone needs to change the sigh in the Coonasstrodome
