I don't understand why Bama wants Saban, Spurrier, or Rich but not Miles?

Here's what I don't understand. Bama BOS went to great lengths to make sure Jimbo didn't become coach at UAB because they didn't want UAB to end up with a better coach than the flagship school in Tuscaloosa. So why isn't Bama going after Jimbo themselves.

They have been. You heard it here first. It's a done deal. They're going to announce it after the Super Bowl. No, not Sugar...Super.

Well we all know how accurate the boards can be, what with Jimbo Fisher at UAB, no, La Tech, wait...and Pellini at Stanford, what, that wasn't true either?!!:dis:

I just think that Miles gets a raw deal. Some people judge head coaches by the way the units that they are experts in perform.

Like they say Saban was a defensive back expert and that was the best coached unit on those Tigers teams. Conversely, they say Miles is an offensive line/tight end expert and that is the most underperforming unit on the Tigers. Or with the Saints, they say Haslett was a linebacking expert and that was the worst performing unit on those Saints teams. While Payton is a quarterback/offensive expert and that is the best performing unit on the Saints.

Bottom line is Miles was able to get us to back to back 10 win seasons on a 12 game schedule so he is a very good coach. Who else could have taken the talent that Miles had to work with and go 8-0 against unranked teams including a 3 point last second win over 4-8 Ole Miss? Who else could go 2-2 against ranked teams with wins over the # 12 and # 17 teams? That is not just luck people. Do you think that most coaches with Pelini and Fisher as coordinators and LSU's talent could achieve that? Think again.

SabanFan can you change your name to EveryLSUCoachFan? Leave Ramah alone. Why does it bother you so much when people make arguments that Miles is mediocre? I don't think anyone has said Miles is horrible. He's a nice guy and a solid coach. Just some people think that he is average and highly overrated by many LSU fans. It's just an opinion backed up by reasons. Can't you just disagree without wanting to censor people who point out negative truths as well as positive truths? If debating the quality of the job our head coach does is not welcome on an LSU site, okay I'll only make homer arguments like you. If Brett asked me not to criticize Les, then I would follow his instructions. Perhaps he appreciates all opinions on his message board even those that he may disagree with and those that are negative in the short term.

Maybe if you presented your views like an intelligent adult rather than as a sarcastic buffoon, you might get more discussion instead of snide put downs. Frankly, the tone of your posts comes off as haughty and disrespectful of LSU fans who are not only very pleased with the current state of the program but also feel Miles has handled things quite well. You want truths? How about the fact that there is not a single thing that tou can point to which that inarguably certify that Miles is not fit to coach at LSU. On the contrary, he has done a masterful job of maintaining the excellence initiated by Saban. You will probably point to his 4 losses and single out some misstep that may or may not have caused the loss, but that is not an acceptable argument because if perfection is your standard then there is not a coach anywhere that would meet your guidelines for what LSU needs in a coach.

In short, have a little attitude adjustment and quit acting like an a-hole.

One more thing. One thread questioning Miles' abilities would be sufficient. The constant rehashing serves no purpose other than to piss off 98% of the people here. You don't believe me? Do a poll to see how many are satisfied with Miles and how many want to run him off.
