I don't understand why Bama wants Saban, Spurrier, or Rich but not Miles?

Don't you have to be a contributer to start a poll? Maybe not I don't know, but if so he would not be able to start that thread!!!

People are entitled to their opinion. Personally, I don't care for Miles, but that's just my opinion. He may turn out to be a true LSU great and he might not, I may also change my opninion about him at some point. He's probably a really nice guy, maybe a little too nice; I think people in general would have more respect for him if he showed a little emotion/passion. People forget that Saban wasn't a fan favorite his first season; in fact, anyone who was in tiger stadium for the UAB loss should contemplate their feelings on that night before bashing Miles for his losses.

Nah, man. Unnamed sources. But trust me, they are very reliable. It goes like this: Jimbo to Bama, Miles to Michigan(Lloyd Carr to the NY Giants), then Saban to LSU. I know this contradicts all the reports that you've heard, but my sources are very close to the parties.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but some form these from unrealistic viewpoints or lack of information.

I personally think Miles has done what he has been paid to do so far. He also did the same at Oklahoma St. After Saban left, if you would ask an LSU fan if a coach only had 4 losses after 2 years would you take him? I know I would of and plenty others on this board would agree.

He is different in his approach than Saban, sure but the results are better so far. I personally have enjoyed the current success of the program and grateful a coach like Miles was able to keep the LSU program at the top of the list in college football. I say Miles doesnt care if he doesnt get credit for his success as long as his team does. I am sure other coaches might feel they can out coach him and I am sure coach enjoys flying under the radar for now.

The media and fans say he is a nice guy and maybe too nice. But I talked to a few players and a student assistant DL coach who know how he is during practice. They say he gets angry and firery like any other coach but has the ability to keep his door open for anything a player needs. IMO, he does not lose the respect a coach deserves for being nice most of the time but it actually gains him a deeper respect knowing that he is always there for his players and recruits.

Very good points. I agree being firm, but with understanding will get your further than just firm. I dont at all see Les being too nice. He has shown more than enough fire. I really liked how he put it out there that he wanted LSU to play Michigan to show we are as good as any team in the country. Also he showed a lot of fire during games.

I like his halftime interviews, too. He doesn't sound like he's getting ready to walk into the locker room and say, " That's OK boys, I'm sure you're trying your best"!! Instead, he confidently says "We're gonna come out and play our a$$e$ off!":geauxtige

Carr is 61 and people are questioning about how much longer he will withstand the pressures of coaching college ball. Retire soon, maybe, to the Giants at 61.......NAW. That isn't to say that CTC will be at the Giants next year.

Carr has been at Michigan since 1980, and after last year, talk floated that he might be getting ready to hang it up. Winning tends to rejuvenate and invigorate, so I don't see him retiring this year or next, but to move to the NFL at 61....

Only 2 NFL coaches have won the Super Bowl after after the age of 61, Dick Vermeil (63) and Weeb Ewbank (61). I am sure this fact isn't lost on the Giants.
