I don't wanna root for Spurrier, but...

Wow, that was interesting. South Carolina had that team on the ropes. Had that QB not stupidly taken that sack and thrown up that stupid pass on 4th down near the goal line, it would have easily been tied and going to OT. I honestly think South Carolina would have won it in OT.

Still, that new QB changes that whole South Carolina team. Now they can possibly mess things up in the east with him in there. He played excellent for most of the game. Auburn couldn't handle the running QB who could pass.

Spurrier did what LSU coaches only did when time was running out in each half. He spread the field and put nobody back with the QB and Auburn couldn't stop it. Hmmm...seems they couldn't stop it when we did it either. Will M. had crap in his panties when they showed him in the 4th. LSU coaches kept running all those bunch formations that make an offense even slower. South Carolina ran and passed all over Auburn's D.

And Auburn has to be the luckiest team ever. Two of their touchdowns were on 4th down at the one and both of them were suspect. The first one wasn't even called until about 10 seconds after the play was over. And of course, the reviews went their way. Is anything ever an easy call with them?

Anyway, Auburn is not untouchable like some were thinking after the LSU game. They are good though and TT is a good coach with a big set... He gives Auburn an edge against a lot of teams. It was a well-coached game on both sides and a great game to watch. Oh yeah, I hate Irons on defense. That dude never shuts the hell up and all he does and hang on receivers the whole time.

    I mentioned that earlier.
Herbie couldn't stop talking about him and how great he was. He is good because he mugs every WR he has too guard.

A freshman LSU WR, Lafell, burned with a hitch and go to the endzone and he had to mug Lafell in the endzone, but if JR would've thrown it sooner and put some heat on it...it was a TD. He is not that great in my opinion. He gets away with a lot.

He just walks around with those short strides, bowed up, shaking his head, jabbering jabbering.

What was the deal with him getting hurt on the sidelines? HE was down for 10mins then comes in the next play. Freakin' sissy. I say this from the comfort of my own home 700 miles away.

I hate to say it, but that was a great game. Just wish SC could have sent it to OT. They way they fought back was impressive and to convert on so many 4th Downs! I was realley rooting for SC, then remembered that "Sparrier" was on the sideline.....Then I refocused on the home team trying to beat Auburn! After the game was over I realized once again why there is no better conf. in football thatn the SEC!!!

Auburn allowed 350 yards of total offense to USC. Kinda surprising, but I knew this game would be close. And I'll say for a third time, if that TE would have caught that pass, may be talking about how overrated AU is right now.

David irons is a jerk. He's the Chad Johnson of DBs. He talks all this smack about shutting down opponents, but he allowed McKinley(sp?) with over 100 yard receiving, who caught nearly ever quick slant pass on him.

Oh what was with Cox and that overdramatic performance once again? I thought, like before, he would be out a few plays, but no, he never left. Wuss...

    D. Irons is a big smack talker, along with just about every other DB worth his salt in this entire league. To say he's the only one is simple bias. He is probably more animated about it, but the "talk" is rampant among today's players and that is a fact.

As far as D.Irons "allowing McKinley with over 100 yards receiving," you're again allowing bias to place your piehole into a higher gear than your brain.

McKinley did have a fine night of receiving, but the bulk of his catches were against (a) linebackers dropping into coverage underneath, or (b) against the backup corner and safety on the weakside.

Both of Auburn's starters (CB & S) were injured and out for the much of the game. Wilhite (photo below) , the starting CB opposite Irons has been on the bench since the 2nd qtr of the LSU game - Powers is the backup.

You're correct about DI talking smack, but you're misuse of facts severely damages the credibility of your statements and adds to the lameness of your post.

And BTW, as Dizzy dean once said, "it ain't braggin' if you can do it." David Irons has successfully shut-down four of the top 7 wideouts in the game today - Calvin Johnson, Jason Hill, Dwayne Bowe, and now Sid Rice.

In the words of Travis Daniels, our DB worth his salt who didn't mug recievers, "I play for the name on the side of my helmet, not on the back of my jersey." You should tell your precious DI this story. If he was worth his salt, he'd keep his mouth shut, otherwise I'll contine to watch him mug recievers.

What's funny is that if you actually watched the game, he didn't contain him very well. He may not allowed all of the 100 yards, but a good chunk of it, pal. Your own bias, and your own ref's, bias has you were you are now. You almost lost to USC. Wait until Florida... or maybe even Alabama and we'll see who DI mugs, but until then, you enjoy this win.

Oh and he shut down LaFell, too, remember?

You mean mugged Lafell. I've never seen a corner get away with so much holding and hugging as D. Irons.
