I think it is hiding in plain sight. They told him not to do something and he did it anyway. I don't know if that is grounds for termination, surely winning the state title shouldn't be. There's some EGO involved here. Plain and simple. Your boss tells you NOT to do something, and you do it anyway..... automatic! Coach didn't appreciate his job enough, or thought he was bigger than the program.
