Lee has been shaky his entire career, but looks better so far this season. He should be the starter until he proves he isn't up to the challenge. Let's hope that doesn't happen. "Lee doesn't have to be bad for Mettenberger to be good." Very true and I really liked what I saw Saturday night from Mett even though it was against second tier competition. He does have talent, he just needs digest the offense and SEC football. If he continues to progress he will be fun to watch. Both QB's have plenty of room for improvement. Hopefully they both see that and continue to do what they need to do to progress.
sure. they will have to pass more without a doubt. this weekend in fact will be the test we thought Oregon would be. No need til Bama to find out. State can roll up some yards and points. Even though they are banged up, they will still be a major test. Mullen does some weird stuff but he has transformed relf almost overnight. But the jury is still out on both our qbs. it will be a game to game experiment with each.
Are you saying no need to find out til bama if they can be consistent passers? If so I disagree, the time is now to get them the work and see where they stand. Although I see Miles playing it safe until he feels more comfortable with them. I agree 100%, MSU is a dangerous team that LSU needs to take seriously. Absolutely, neither looks like world beaters yet. I think Miles will ramp up the O a little each week and see what they can do. If they fail the test he will go conservative until he has no choice or they improve their play.
how many possessions did we have in the first half? 5 or 6? thats a bit of a reach to look at it that way. we did throw the ball immediately and often when mett came in. that was obvious to anyone. 6 of our first 7/8 plays were passes i believe.
no no no no no. most are implying we need to get them ready for bama. the test is 3 days away. they will put up some points im afraid.
We need to get them ready and keep them improving for the next game even if that game is against toolame. Anyone looking ahead to Bama is a fool.
point being is i think we will really be tested in this game. not so against nw or cs' community college in toolame. and the offense will have to put up some points. curious to see how jl and the offense responds.
Not true? Read the freakin' drive chart; its there on LSU's website. We threw 6 times in the first 14:10 of the first half, and 4 times in the last 50 seconds. I could break it down drive-by-drive for you, but I'm not going to bore the fanbase any further with this. If I must, I'll pm you after work.
No doubt, it's the SEC and MSU is a much improved football team under Mullen. LSU needs to bring their A game. If they do it should be a comfortable win. If not anything can happen.
