1. I don't begin to get how anyone would not support renaming the stadium.

5 national god damn championships. We have exactly 1 NC that wasn't under Skip's reign.

What don't you get about that?

  2. damn straight skip brought lsu baseball out the ashes, why not name the feild after him
  3. First, it's not the stadium, it's the field. Second, the street is already named after him. I bet he is just fine with that. In a certain way, it's better in that you have to know a little history of LSU to understand why the street is named after him instead of the grass.
  4. I'm somewhat surprised we didn't name the new stadium the Skip Bertman Stadium. Hard to imagine somebody doing more for a program than what Skip did for LSU baseball. Skip did a lot more for LSU baseball than Maravich did for LSU basketball, and we named our basketball arena after Pete
  5. So what, we gonna kick Alex Box to the curb?
  6. It's pretty common in football too. Just in the SEC, you have:

Auburn: Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium

Arkansas: Frank Broyles Field at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium

Florida: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field

Kentucky: C.M. Newton Field at Commonwealth Stadium

Miss State: Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field

Missouri: Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium

Ole Miss: Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at Hollingsworth Field

Tennessee: Shields-Watkins Field at Neyland Stadium

Vanderbilt: Vanderbilt Stadium at Dudley Field

    Others include:

Florida State: Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium

Clemson: Frank Howard Field at Memorial Stadium

Oklahoma: Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium at Owen Field

Nebraska: Tom Osborne Field at Memorial Stadium
  7. That's why i used the phrase "somewhat surprised"

I'm just glad we didn't name the new stadium Bertman-Box, I'm not a fan of the double-name stadiums like:

Bryant-Denny (originally Denny Stadium, legendary coach Bear Bryant added later)

Jordan-Hare (formerly Cliff Hare Stadium since 1949, legendary coach Shug Jordan added later)

Vaught-Hemingway (originally Hemingway stadium, legendary coach Johnny Vaught added later)

    etc

  8. Yes . . . very common.
  9. I think it's fine and don't understand the uproar.

I look forward to the day we see Les Miles Field at Tiger Stadium. I'll sit back and eat some popcorn now. :D

  10. Would we be able to keep play clocks on it?
