I'm not a "Fin fan." I watch the NFL but much prefer college football, and have been an LSU fan all my life, and actually did graduate from the school. Where have I been? Living life. Like I said, if Saban stays I'll be ecstatic (then we can all endure the rumors next year and the year after). He's a gone pecan. It bleauxs, but ... Who do you think are likely candidates?

    take it easy

:geaux:  I'm sorry, I didn't realize I had to spend my entire life reading this forum in order to offer opinions and seek information. I graduated from LSU in 1982, lifelong Tiger fan, bleed P&G, etc. I simply see the handwriting on the wall. Again, why don't we contemplate who would be a good hire? Certainly not Tuberville! And I don't think Butch Davis is a good fit at this point, w/ his health problems, etc.

We don't start looking for 2nd wives around here while the ink is still wet on the divorce papers for the 1st...Unless you're John Brady...

;-) --> That was for you, SabanFan...

You sound more and more like a non-LSU fan...But go ahead and whine to me some more about how you aren't...

You feeling a bit fiesty tonight 'eh? Maybe a crown and 7 will do you some good

I just hope Skip does some contingency planning better than some of the tiger faithful. I want Saban to stay but it would be pretty silly if fans/staff all waited for official word before discussing a potential replacement, even when Skip himself put the odds at 50-50 today.

Gotta love the warm welcome newbies get around here. If you don't have 2,500 posts, your opinion is unwanted and you get shouted down. It's as if people with high post counts are "better" LSU fans than everyone else.

Way to go. That's the way to attract new members. That's also the reason I'm not a Contributor yet. And from how I've seen new people treated around here, I wouldn't count on me becoming one anytime soon.

What did the guy say that has you up in arms? He expressed his opinion and asked for thoughts. The only responses relate to his post count and whether or not he's a "real" LSU fan.

Thank you. But in deference to Tiger "Educated," I will light some candles, pray the Rosary, invoke the memories of Doc Fenton, Steve Van Buren, YA Tittle, et al, and ignore all the clear signals as to what is going to happen. Yep, you're right, it would be nice if Skip had a "Plan B," I'm thinking he'll be able to attract an excellent replacement. :geaux: :lsug: :helmet: :eek:ldskule: :) :thumb:

    inside information

Not really anything useful, but just from a few people:

My friend on the team said Saban hadn't said anything as of last night, and the team wasn't going to be meeting again until Christmas day, and that he doubted Saban would take a job and then go 3 days without talking to the team about it all. (Take that to mean that a)he is staying, or b)he will wait to anounce until after he talks to the team, or c) he will just go ahead and screw the team) My friend believes it is a, but this is just his opinion.

My dad's friend was at Saban's christmas party (he was a ref for the purple and gold game); he said the way Saban acted at the party leads him to believe he will stay, but thats just his opinion.

Lastly, my friend who works at TAF said that most of the focus over there today was on Radavoich(sp?) trying to get the AD job at Auburn, but towards the end of the day there was a bunch of commotion and he had to go get one of the upper TAF guys out of a meeting to talk to Bertman and some other big guys in the AD and TAF, and most of these guys were on and off the phones for the rest of the afternoon. He had no idea what the commotion was about when I talked to him, but my guess now was that this was when the official offer was made. My friend said he has no idea what Saban is doing, and is not sure that Saban even knows.

Sorry that none of this stuff is very useful, but its all I've got.
