    You have a good point about talking to the players, therefore I believe that if he decides to go to Miami he will simply wait to declare his decision. We all want a decision now but he does not have to make a decision within the next two days. Miami is not in that big of a rush.

    I realize he doesn't "have" to tell them, but that sure would do a lot of damage to his reputation if he goes out that way. Would you want your first source that your coach is definitely leaving to be ESPN??

    not quite what happened

    I looked into Saban leaving MSU

    here and

    here

    and apparently what he did there was have a meeting with the players telling them he might be leaving, told them they would know by 7:00 the morning of a certain day, told them for sure at that time, then had his press conference later that day. That is NOT at all what it would be like if Saban ends up accepting that contract tomorrow and has a press conference then.
