Well you're kind of correct. Murphy arrived just as late as Keiland (not exactly, but ya know), it was just Murphy's choice to be redshirted. this kid actually knew he'd be of more service to his team if he was patient and made sure of himself with the offense before he played. now if that's not the kind of player we want i don't know what is.
great point! I didn't know he wanted to be redshirted, but it was my own opinion--due to the number of RB's we had on the roster, that LSU (and Murphy) were both better of if he DID redshirt. We have good depth at both types of RB's (though Keiland IS both a "between the tackles runner" as well as a shifty outside guy with the ability to make people miss in open field). Other than Keiland, in the unfortunate event of injury to KW--or simply to give him a "breather", if you need an outside runner, Murphy and RJ Jackson--both capable pass catchers too. If you need a "power back" and that short-yardage, you have Charles Scott (and Alley if he can ever get his act together).....and Hester, too! We may not have a first team All-American running back in '07, but we certainly have one of, if not THE most, complete and deep backfield in the country! LSU might not have a Heisman running back again, but because we always imploy SEVERAL GREAT running backs in our offense, it's a good problem to have! :thumb:
