Hey, and did you know he played pee wee football with David Greene since they were kids???!!!! No Todd, in fact I have to hear a statement 10-15 times before I truly comprehend it.
I can remember when we played ATM in '95 @ College Station. ATM had a RB by the name of Leeland McElroy, I believe. I can't remember who the commentators were, but the whole game all they kept saying about him was, "he's the real deal." Two yard run by McElroy..."real deal." Look, his shoe came untied..."he's the real deal." The whole friggin' game.
Way back in 1987, LSU was playing aTm in College Station and whoever the announcer was kept pointing out that Nicky Hazard was from "Met-TAR-ee, Louisiana". He must have been so proud to have figured out how to say it that way that no one would tell him it was wrong. It got so funny that it became a family joke. Bad announcers have been around for a long time. GEAUX TIGERS
I had a client from Arizona who would say "met-TAR-RAY." The only commentators I like are Al Michaels, Madden, and Gary Blackthorn (comments on hockey, but they bring him out for bowl games, in particular ours against Iowa).
