I think our players have been somewhat complacent coming in to this last weekend, and it doesn't help that it's a short week and a day game. I just don't enjoy it and I can feel a real difference in the atmosphere.

I think you are quite right, there is no reason we need to fear playing in the day or wearing purple jerseys.
If we are an elite program then it shouldn't matter when we play.
I prefer night games over day games but I also like LSU playing Arkansas the day after Thanksgiving.
I am an LSU football fan first and a college football fan second.
It seems to me that I have the best of both worlds because I don't miss any games on Saturdays after Thanksgiving!

There is actually a couple of nice benefits to the game. One was mentioned, national exposure. The other is an extra day of rest and preparation over the team in the East when we play in the SECCG. As someone posted in another thread, TN is a tired, banged team too. I think we match up well with them, and I believe we will win the game in a shootout.

Actually the game that day gives LSU nice national exposure. This year, we had so much exposure that additional TV coverage wasn't that important. However, usually it's great for LSU.

damn, rhans, had to look that one up, and almost didn't find it. the only place i found somnolescence was at wikipedia, and it automatically redirected me to somnolence (whose definition i confirmed on other sites). for the curious:

A #1 championship bound team beats an unranked Arkansas team any of the 365 days in a year--any of the 24 hrs in a day, and at any football field on planet earth with no excuses. They win and that's how that goes!!!!
