So, anyone who wants in, PM me and first put in a vote whether or not we will have a preseason poll... and if not, when do we start? Also tell me how many teams we should rank... Because loco is right, we need at least 35-40 teams...
One final thing.. To throw things a little off balance (or to bring balance, whichever you decide), I will add publications' polls as a vote. AP (yes... I know... nag nag ang..) will be included in this (I don't know if this idea is possible with the 40 team rankings...)
Yes, I was thinking the same thing, because it will be VERY difficult to manage with strictly our votes... You can do it like the AP does it and assign points to the positions like #1 being worth 25 pts or whatever, and add up each team's points and put them in order too... That don't sound too bad.
Using the point method I mentioned also allows readers to see just how close each team is apart etc... I think that would be your best bet... 40- 1 pt 39- 2 pt 38- 3 pt 37- 4 pt 36- 5 pt 35- 6 pt 34- 7 pt 33- 8 pt 32- 9 pt 31- 10 pt 30- 11 pt 29- 12 pt 28- 13 pt 27- 14 pt 26- 15 pt 25- 17 pt 24- 19 pt 23- 21 pt 22- 23 pt 21- 25 pt 20- 27 pt 19- 30 pt (18-15) add 3 (14-10) add 4 (9-5) add 5 (4-1) add 10 that seems like a pretty fair system to me? It's just a suggestion, but...
I say we have a preseason poll.. if for not other reason that to give me something to do... but also to work out any wrinkles we might have in the system...
I think I need to make a limit on how many voters... (If I have to do this, I will go by seniority / contribution)...
