You're probably right about that Stacey, but at least is wasn't whining about LSU this time, or was he?

Ivan will just say that last year USC was the consensus number one in the 2 polls and Auburn is not so they don't have the same case.

In addition, some will say AU doesn't deserver a split because USC beat them straight up at Jordan Hare last year with basically the same team. And shut them out at that. As everyone knows, the problem with that theory is that you can't judge a team based on what they did last year. USC's defense isn't as good as it was last year. Did you notice how many yards rushing ND had? Hate AU or not, you have to think their rushing game is better than ND's, so they would have better success.

This is why this weekend's games are still crucial. Auburn has no chance at getting to the title game if all 3 teams win out. But if OU can struggle with CU, which I think they will, and Auburn can win by 31 over Tennessee, which I think is a foregone conclusion, then Auburn could very well get to #2 in both the AP and Coaches polls. Now we have a full blown controversy. That's all I want for Christmas.

JMO, but I believe most AU fans are resigned to the reality that AU will be shutout of the OB. The likelihood of CO or UCLA climbing out of the dumpster to give #1 or #2 a decent game are calculated in single-digit percentage points. Many still hold out for the possibility of a split MNC, but I’m not certain that it’s even a mathematical possibility.

This deck was stacked when the preseason polls were released and it once again reveals the laziness of the pollsters to adequately research and prepare for their voting responsibility.…… it’s a lot like politics, don’t you agree?

Still, AU can control what it does on the field, and that has been nothing short of amazing this season. I believe they represent the SEC well and I’m confident they will manage UT handily.

Notre Dame exposed USC's run defense and it further highlights why Cal was the only decent opponent USC has faced all season, IMO. Arrington/Cal and Notre Dame provided a glimpse of what AU's running game can potentially achieve if they were to be matched up. Also JMO, but I believe that either USC or AU would beat OU by at least 14 pts, courtesy of that roman-candle secondary.

    The SEC West rules!

I agree with everything you said except the part about USC beating OU by 14. Personally, I think if AU and USC were to play, USC would get BLOWN OUT , yes I said it, blown out. Both OU and USC have been very inconsistent this year but I still think if they were to play, OU would win, maybe not by a lot, but they would win. AU has however, with the exception of us, handily beaten all of their opponents this year, and might I add, have had a pretty rough schedule. That is my view on why AU should be in the NC. There is a little SEC bias there for sure but, it really wouldn't matter which team they played in the OB, they would kill whoever it was.

I agree with all you said except your USC or AU, I believe AU or OU would hand USC their azz, and AU and OU would be a hell of a game.
