I disagree about Oregon because Oregon is built a lot like aTm, especially on the offensive side of the ball. LSU's defense largely shut down that O, just like we did against Oregon, and did just enough to win it offensively. Oregon does not match up well against us, which is why I believe they would lose to us again and would be destroyed by Alabama.
I haven't looked at the yardstick, but we definitely statistically dominated them after the first quarter. Johnny Football was held to something like 21 yards rushing.
They outgained us by close to 100 yards, but that is meaningless. They had a lot of those yards in the 1st quarter and then picked up a chunk on their meaningless last drive. LSU's D adjusted in-game and shut them down. All good on that end.
I don't allow a game to make me miserable, at least anymore. The benefit of middle age and too many LSU games of the 70s, 80's and 90s. And while it's certainly more enjoyable to live with your head in the clouds and not see reality, it's not as easy for some of us. No matter how I may perceive the outcome, I always bring my A game to the stands; More than most in my area.
Oregon's little offensive line would get steamrolled by the top 4 teams from the SEC, I saw them up close last year next to our DL and it was little boys playing against men, not much has changed in one year......Chip Kelly said it himself, they don't have or play against guys like that. As for Bama, anything can happen under darkness of a Saturday night in Death Valley, enough bourbon and Tigerfan love and Bama's dreams could die too
Yep on Oregon and yep on the next game. I have Bama to win this game, but the game has to be played and anything can happen.
Is that what it is...or am I more in touch with reality than the folks who are usually predicting doom and gloom for our team?
Well I did something today I'd NEVER done and never thought I would. Walk out in anger and not wait to see what adjustments we'd make. I just felt like A&M came to play and we hadn't. Maybe the morning thing threw me off too. I kept telling myself I couldn't believe I wasn't glued to the tv and yelling.
I felt like doing the same thing, but I was still sipping my cofffee (I'm on west coast), so I just hung in and watched it. Always trust in the D. It's the O that should drive you mad.
Women handle stuff so much better than men. You're a great "grounder" here. You keep us grounded and I actually like you telling me where I'm wrong if/when I doubt our team. We need you to pick us up so don't stop.
