1. Tigers have rhythm they haven't had with JJ at the helm. Lee is doing a great job as a leader. Lee can remember more than 5 plays. JJ is third string at best. Leave him on the bench where he dserves to be...
  2. I'm concerned that you feel that way, and worried that you would post it.

  3. And this is exactly what 'worries' me. JL, instead of playing loose and confident is playing to avoid a mistake that would cause him to be pulled by that short leash. We all know CLM loves JJ. I agree with earlier post also about Jarrett Lee stepping in and playing as well as we could have hoped. This kid has done a great job. I really hope this does not turn out to be a problem for this 'damn strong football team'.

  4. He's Backkkk!!!!

From the players twittering, all of them wanted JJ back. Now whether they "expect" him to start is another issue for which I am not sure. For what it is worth, this offense is doing just fine now based on a comparison with the 2003 and 2007 teams. Lee is actually had a better start than Flynn did in 2007 through 4 games. It appears that JJ rejoining the team will actually help the psyche of the team itself. I prefer him to take some snaps at some point to erase this thought of red-shirting. The notion that Mettenberger would not be ready this year is ridiculous. You mean he is not good as McCarron at Alabama? If he took McCarron's place right now, he would be better in my estimation. He was red-shirted at Georgia and a solid year of JC ball starting. He is not Jarrett Lee in 08.

I do hope that this situation has created some humility in JJ and that he will have an attitude adjustment.

I also hope that Miles treats Lee's situation the same exact way he treated JJ last year. That he was the starter no matter what he did "on" the field including for throwing for 100yds or less in 8 games.
  5. You must spread some rep around before giving it to russnrvr again.

  6. Realist.

I can see us using JJ for short yardage and goal line plays as he can be effective with an option play and even better throwing off what appears to be a option play and burn the defense with a big play passing.
  7. I pulled this quote from Dandy Don's website. Miles made this statement last night at Ribs:

"Miles answered that he will keep Lee as his starter as we move forward and that it would be irresponsible for him to do otherwise. This got an applause from the crowd. Miles went on to say that it is also important to realize that Jefferson brings a skill set that will allow him to play some and be a plus to the team, but that right now it's Lee's opportunity."

I take it that when he mentions JJ's skill set he is reffering to the read option play. I think JL will be just fine with JJ back out there. As red stated this team has proven they can deal with distraction. I think this will actually be a morale boost for all of the players.
  8. I haven't read through all of the threads but is there any chance of a civil suit? It would seem like that could cause a pretty big distraction to both JJ and the rest of the team if the "victims" decided to go through with one in the next few weeks. Or does the downgrade of the charges reduce the chances of it?
  9. Excellent post; very well stated. I think we need to look at all of this from a positive perspective, especially in giving CLM the benefit of the doubt that he will handle this appropriately and with class.

  10. And when we're ahead and are taking long, time-consuming drives to eat up clock. Jefferson can hand-off just fine and his legs are an additional threat. The guy can throw the short pass, too.

But mostly, I think he will come in handy this season if Lee gets injured. We have taken a lot of quarterback injuries in the last 10 years. We play in a rugged league.
