If Saban is such a genius why did he fail with the Dolphins?

They are enamored with the fact that they can win a ton of games and that he sends a bunch of guys to "the League" every year, which is what they all think they are going to do, most delusionally so.

Really? So what was the reason when he got his very first #1 recruiting class after going 6-6, losing to Louisiana-Monroe, and on a four game losing streak?

The grind may be different, but the actual job of HC is also different. Some coaches are better equiped for one or the other. I don't think Satan's style and personality translates nearly as well to the pro game as it does the college game. Also recruiting is his greatest strength which doesn't translate to the pro game at all.

Lombardi is way down on the all-time wins list (42nd) because he only coached 10 seasons and some of them were when seasons were 12 games. But fun fact....throughout his coaching career; college or pro; assistant or head coach, Lombardi never experienced a losing season.

John Madden only coached the Raiders for 10 years, from age 33 to 42. Finished 103-32-7 and never had a losing season

Because they were intelligent enough to know that:
    • it was his first year there
    • he was doing that with the previous coach's players
    • he had a previous track record of:
      • turning around a team in the SEC West
      • winning a national championship
      • sending guys to the NFL.
