A BCS at-large birth is a definite possibility, although far from guaranteed. LSU is a very attractive team right now to the BCS bowls, especially now with the 2 extra at-large bids. Here's a scenario to consider (assumes LSU doesn't even make it to the SEC CG but wins out): 6 automatic BCS bids (Conference Champs) SEC - Florida/Auburn/Arkansas winner of SEC CG ACC - Georgia Tech vs. (WF/Maryland/BC) winner of ACC CG Big East - Rutgers/WVU winner (I assume best BCS standing is tie-breaker in 3 way tie) Pac-10 - Cal/USC winner Big 10 - Michigan/OSU winner Big 12 - Texas/Nebraska winner of Big 12 CG Who would be in the mix for the at-large bids? This is my pecking order: 1. Michigan/OSU loser (definitely in) 2. Notre Dame with only 1 loss (definitely in) 3. Florida as loser of SEC CG 4. Cal/USC loser (unless USC loses a 3rd time) 5. Auburn as loser in SEC CG 6. LSU at 10-2 (no SEC title birth) 7. Notre Dame with 2 losses 8. Louisville with 1 loss (assumes WVU as champ) 9. Wisconsin at 11-1 10. Undefeated Boise State 11. Rutgers with 1 loss (assumes WVU as champ) 12. Texas as loser of Big 12 CG
Same here, Playing would ND would be amazing, finally showing the world how overrated they are. JR would have a field day on their D. USC is better overall but they dont have everything together. Maybe we could bet our Crystal ball in 03 for theirs from 04 and the winner gets both?
Count Wisconsin out in your scenario... as a conference can only have two BCS teams.... same with SEC, can't have Florida, Auburn and LSU... just two.
The Michigan/OSU loser is in. Boise State is in if they can get in the top 12 Florida & Auburn would not get in as an SECCG loser--only 1 CG loser has gotten in: OU in 03 when they were "the greatest team in College football" The Big East isn't getting 2 teams in unless Notre Dame is left out--it could happen if USC blows out the Irish. For LSU to have a realistic chance at an at large bid, they need to win out, Auburn to go to the SECCG, Texas to win the Big XII, and Notre Dame to lose to a USC team that has beaten Cal. At least, that's how I see it. GEAUX TIGERS.
