If Steltz gets over 10 picks this year is he a first rounder?

John Lynch for sure and they might be comparable, though we really wont know until Steltz steps onto an NFL field.

As far as him being a 1st round pick, Id have to say no. But if he keeps playing well and has a good combine he will probably be a first day pick, as he covers pretty well, has good size and tackling ability. Honestly nobody will know until April rolls around.

I dont see him going in the first round even with 10 picks. First day pick at best would be realistic if he keeps up his great play.

i agree. steltz i beastmode. it amazes me how he seemingly comes out of nowhere, snags the ball, and takes off with it. i think if he continues, he will be first or second round.

according to nfldraftscouts website (see link below), he is ranked 5th out of 92 SS's and his 40 is 4.59. They are currently projecting him draft round 4-5.

he's comparable to eric weddle, who went in the 3rd round. i say with the exposure of being on a national champion ;) he should go in the second round at the latest if he continues how he's been.

I would agree with that comparison but where Steltz gets the nod over Weddle is that Steltz is going to enter the NFL as a true safety. Weddle played his entire career as a corner.

Heck, with MTSU being so pass happy he may get another 3 picks. If he does, he might make the cover of SI. Would that not be cool?

What does he have to do to get on some of the All-American lists? The media needs to pump him up some how. He looks like he should have a painted skull on his face like that crazy guy on The Program.

It all depends on his speed. If he runs a 4.4 at the combine he could very well go into the late first round early second. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm sure they'll take into account he benefited from a great pressure inducing DL.
