1. You know, alot of us remember the 90's and I would venture to bet Sabanfan is one of them. And I have to agree with him. It's all about the end results. Just win baby. Is the offense a juggernaut? No, but we know who we are. We are a special teams and defensive unit. That is who we are.

So I think the moral of the story is, if Crowton goes, or Crowton stays, just get behind your team, because 9-1 and no offense is alot better than say, Georgia who has 5 losses, and a great offense.
  2. absaloutley.......a completely different coaching staff was responsible for getting LSU back to the ranks of the elite, now as fans, and paying ticket holders we are to demand that the university does whatever it has to do to keep lus at an elite status.....that meant getting rid of 2 co-defensive cordinators that were not getting it done....and they did, now it intells getting rid of an offensive cordinator who has his team offense ranked # 96 in the country.....and it's not a one year boo boo, it's been for the past three years......if something is broke....you HAVE to fix it, and the offense is clearly broken. I'm not saying we should have a top 20 offense...but there is NO reason to not be in the top 50% ....do the math # 96 is just ridiculous. With the 60th best offense in the country we are probably undefeated. I do not think as fans we are asking to much to be in the top half of the country on offense.

    Here's some stats....as you can tell i'm a big stat's guy.
    Crowton was hired in 07.........
lsu offense in 06(year prior to crowton) ranked # 14 in country
07 (ifrst year of crowton) ranked # 9 in the country
    08 (crowton 2nd year) ranked # 51 in country....wow big drop We'll get better next year right.......wrong!!
09 (crowton 3rd year)...# 102 in the country....inexcusable!! How did we fall off so fast....did we suddenlly loose all of our talent? Think not!!
10 ( crowton 4th year) ....# 96 in the country with 2 games left!! Still have top 5 recruiting classes comming in.....but offense is getting NO better....so what's the common denominator here.....CROWTON!! So explain to me ...no matter how good our team is overall.....(thank god for great defense and special teams) ....how can a TOP TIER program continue to accept failure at Offensive coordinator position??? I know if I dont perform at my job......I would get fired. S why should it be any different for Crowton??:helmet:
  3. Oooooh, that one went home.
  4. Four comments:

    1. Crowton is responsible for the offense and it has underperformed.

    2. Most of that is from poor quarterbacking, but it is Crowton's responsibility anyway. This comes with the job.

    3. Being overly loyal to assistants who were not getting it done cost McClendon and Dinardo their jobs. Les understands. Les did not let Peveto/Mallory cost him his job. He upgraded.

    4. Nick turned over 3 assistants a year. Some couldn't stand Nick, some couldn't do their job, and some just found greener pastures . . . but Nick always upgraded his staff with every change. Les has an opportunity to do the same.
  5. Hallelujah! Shout it from the mountain tops!
  6. Yep, straight home, like a fat Wall Street banker rushing home to his mansion to count all his Bush-given gold before Obama can take it away.

  7. It's what you HAVE to do if you want to STAY succesfull and ultimately keep your job in college football today!!
  8. Crowton can point to his record. Obama cannot.
  9. His record? Of what? Bottom the SEC offenses?

    Exactly.
  10. Jordon Jefferson plus Gary crowton = piss poor offense multiply times super defense and special teams and you get # 5 bcs but no Atlanta. If you upgrade one of the two weak links and you make it to Atlanta for the seccg. If you upgrade both weak links it's new Orleans next year for the national championship. If you keep the same formula next year as you have this year we can not expect any better results. If we make it to the bcsncg this year it will because God is a tiger fan and Les Miles is the luckiest man on earth.
