    Religious experience?

My friend's girlfriend said "How I am supposed to compete with that?" as we walked out of the stadium. I am sure she did just fine!

first of all, some back ground.

first of all, i have mentioned my ticket fiasco with stub hub that had me a nervous wreck before i ever left for the game because the seller tried to screw me over. on wed evening stub hub was getting me alternate tix that i had to have overnighted to my hotel. i really wasnt sure i was going to have a ticket but i was making the trip anyway.

then, the flight in became an event. what was supposed to be a direct flight, with just a stop in houston but staying on the plane as the next leg was br was anything but. my plane got comandeered by southwest for another flight so they herded everyone off and put us on another flight. then the alternate flight was late arriving. then, that plane had problems. so we all waited, and waited. i was so tired at the airport in houston i thought i was gonna fall asleep and miss it when we finally got to board. luckily, there was another tiger fan on the flight that i got to talk to so i could half way stay awake.

i really thought that the football gods were trying to tell me i should not be at that game. but then i realized that since everything was working out - although with lots of help and stress - i was supposed to be.

and the game itself was the most awsome i have ever been to anywhere! electrifying is just one word. i think the most incredible moment - other than the last failed pass by florida to seal the deal, and the hester td - was when the usc score was shown. i got goosebumps because at that moment tiger stadium became death valley. it was magical.

when hester score to put us ahead and to win the game, i don't think i have ever screamed any louder! even at snakes. :hihi: i still have very little voice!

simply put, it was one of the most incredible experiences i have ever had. i am so fortunate that everything finally worked out for me to be there!

I am still on Cloud 9!! I am even starting to get my voice back. That was by far the best game I have ever seen in Tiger Stadium. It may even rank up there with the Nat'l Championship game!!

The whole day was one I will remember for a very long time. :geauxtige

I am so jealous of you guys who were there! :bncry:

I spent my day trying not to think too much about the game. Got a new tenant settled in to our rental property, took the kids to the fire department's open house at their training center, hiked through the park, made dinner, and tried (with varying success) to get the kids in bed early.

It looked awesome on tv when they announced the USC score. I wish I had been there! Maybe next year I will be able to go to a game!

yep, it was worth every bit of stress. and greenie was very calm and reassuring with every brick wall i hit. i think he was afraid of what my reaction would be if he wasn't. but he heard about the stress with every step. poor guy! :hihi:

I have tried many times in the last day or so to describe the entire game. All the posts in this thread are perfect, and cause me to just stop and remember. The score was shown and many people saw it, word was spreading like wildfire before the announcement. If you've been in TS when they announce a great score, you always hear a kind of "wow!" cheer and then some rumblings that subside quickly. Imagine that cheer times 10. The rumbling did NOT subside, rather escalated exponentially turning into 92,910 (including Fla fans) jumping clapping & screaming, both teams going crazy on the field. Fans weren't just yelling and clapping, never saw this but the entire stadium was jumping, hugging, clapping, screaming. Everyone knew LSU winning this game would mean total respect as #1 in the country. Fla scored right after this, but you know the rest!

Had my wife and 14 yr old son with me. They almost got tired of me saying, "you'll always remember being at THIS game!".

    Almost.

It's easy to forget how much it meant to Florida to hear the USC score. USC losing helped open the door for them in a very big way. They were just as motivated and drove down the field and scored. After that is when the Tigers looked at the clock an knew what they had to do. Florida's time was up and it was tiger time. :geauxtige

INCREDIBLE! We went in early so we could see Mike VI, that was cool. We saw Florida jump on the eye - they should have been penalized for that - the crowd boo'd - they got what they deserved later in the game.

I got nervous when we were behind, but just kept telling myself, no way, we are No. 1, they can't keep this up all game, WE WILL PREVAIL! And we did - it was Electric.

FL fans were chanting "Its great to be a FL Gator," they were only up by 10 and it was the third quarter - that just made me mad - our fans kept up, for this game our fans were into the game too, finally, I sit in the South, and it gets quiet up there, I don't know why. I wish I was in the NOrth.

Some of the crowd left when we missed that field goal late in the game- I was like, what is wrong w/ these people - the game is NOT OVER - there is so much time left - Great come back, Great fake w/ Matt running it in, Great going for it on 4th twice in the last drive, Great DEFENSE! GREAT GAME!
