How does believing that a new offensive coordinator and new o-line coach should be considered have anything to do with driving Miles out and bringing back a Curley Hallman like coach? Miles isn't going anywhere unless he stops filling the stands. It will be Miles' doing if he is driven out of town. Not a generation of hate. By your reply seems as though you have some hate in your generation.
I love Miles' win-loss record, but his coaching performance on the big stage in January will be what people will most remember until his next opportunity on such a stage.
Don't kid yourself, people may or may not remember that 2nd game, but they sure as hell wished their coach was competent enough to get their team there. And twice in 5 seasons?
Personal attacks upon me for trying to discuss matters intelligently are fine with me. In my view, your personal attacks on me simply diminish the value of your opinions. I posed an exercise for you by which you might play Devil's Advocate and discuss some criticism of Coach Miles. I have praised Coach Miles. It it your opinion that there is no worthy criticism of Coach Miles? If you believe that there is worthy criticism, please state it. Now, you have attacked me personally, and, I pick up the gauntlet. Will you answer my questions? Or will you simply continue to attack me? And the rest of you in this thread -- What are the legitimate criticisms of Coach Miles? Are there any? If there are, please state them, because I want to be sure that I understand everyone's position. Please state them, because I remember some criticism, but, I don't recall whether the OP or the personal attackers have ever voiced these criticisms. I see a lot of personal attacks of critics around here. I'd like these aggressive attackers to exercise their minds and discuss some legit criticism of Coach Miles. I have discussed his strong points, so, What, in your opinion, are his weak points? I challenge you all who started this thread to respond substantively, intelligently and without personal attacks. We are ALL very good at personal attacks, because that's easy. Let's see some deep thinking and serious discussion -- THAT is difficult.
I think talking about an offensive coordinator is perfectly acceptable conversation, the criticism of the offense, is also fair game.
Thank you. Your thought here makes perfect sense. LaSalle, you'd probably agree that a new OC decision will have to wait until the end of this season. I can't see a change happening now, because it's too early to say. Now, what about the rest of you? Particularly the one who personally attacked me ? TigerTap ?
As a PS, LaSalle Ave: what can we do around here about the personal attacks and personal bashing that goes on around here? I like the idea of adopting a new custom: We attack an unsupported and poorly articulated OPINION around here, and not the person. You know, folks, this message board is not booming. If we allow a some Clique to try to control the thoughts around here by personally attacking, stalking, accusing, smearing, name-calling, and on and on -- if we allow this -- then this board is as popular right now than it will ever be. Now, I'm calling TigerTap out to substantively answer my questions or Ignore me. That said, his kind of accusation and attack on me is not going to contribute to the success of this message board, and I call on him to cease that kind of internet bullying.
TigerTap: I suggest you read the following portion of the rules around here. " You agree to not use the Service to post or link to any Content which is defamatory, abusive " So, stop your internet bullying tactics around here.
This is ridiculous. You can talk about whatever you damn well please, but it behooves you to be reasonable and somewhat measured.
You lied & got caught. Do the board rules say anything about posting the truth? You playing "Message Board Cop" & "Throwing down your gauntlet", are high comedy to me personally, but perhaps you are boring the other board members here, with your silliness.
