So parents are letting their children walk across Mexico encouraging their children to break American law. These parents are exposing their children on this journey to the elements, gangs and pedophiles. They get stopped at the border placed in a holding area that is probably 10 times better than where they came from. They are housed, clothed, fed, educated, entertained and giving medical care they probably have never had before. YET BECAUSE WE ENFORCE LAWS THAT WERE ON THE BOOKS SINCE GEROGE BUSH THE DEMOCRATS AND THE MSM GETS AWAY WITH CALLING THIS CONCENTRATION CAMPS AND CHILD ABUSE. THE CONCENTRATION CAMPS ARE WHERE THEY CAME FROM AND THE CHILD ABUSERS ARE THEIR OWN PARENTS.
and none of that fixes the loopholes that create this situation. all of this is politically motivated from both sides.....trump could change the policy with a phone call but won't as he's using this to gain wall funding. the left turned their head when this was going on during the Obama administration with full knowledge of the situation because...well, he was obama. There is a simple solve but the elected club chooses not to fix it, instead they are all positioning for the mid-terms. place your anger where it belongs: congress
Well said @kcal this flows right back to one of my concerns in the Where are we going thread. There are two trends that are threatening to the country’s future. The first is a growing expectation from both sides of the political spectrum to look to the federal government to solve their problems. This is 180 degrees opposite of what the Constitution intended the federal government to do. To be a healthy society we need robust state and local governments and a people who look to themselves first to solve their problems. The more we depend on government especially the federal government the more power and rights we surrender to it. The second equally dangerous trend is the imbalance between Congress and the Executative. Congress has been surrendering its power to the executive since the time of FDR. This leads to abuse of power such as we saw under Obama and are seeing under Trump. This way leads to dictatorship and tyranny. BTW it’s not something government can change, WE THE PEOPLE must take responsibility and do the hard work to right the ship.
It's even worse than that. Many children are not biologically theirs. Who's to,say an MS-13 member doesn't use a kid as a tool to use the loop hole that was being utilized before the zero tolerance. And hell, 3 hots and a cot is an improvement for most of them.
