I'm sure we'd want TF to be a positive representation of LSU.

Tiga, (fwiw) I'm not so sure I would use wikipedia in the future. With just a couple quick edits, anyone could make it look like even Tulane wound up #1 each year. Hell, I almost edited it myself just for laughs.

Anyway, I agree with the reason you started this thread. And it's funny how you mentioned all the attacks on this board, then you got attacked for it. It's not enough that we have our best team ever this year, and we're carrying a perfect record into our biggest game of the season. For some reason, we still have to fight it out every week.

I don't post much. But I'm here EVERY day keeping up with our Tigers. And most of the threads, to me, are very helpful for LSU information. So thanks to everyone for that. And for the many threads that end up becoming personal attacks, I quickly close them. There usually so poorly written with such little credible information and badly formed arguments, they're not worth the time it takes to read them.

All that said, thanks to everyone for keeping me informed

You bet they do. The internet was a Godsend to media people. The days of daily papers and circulation numbers are quickly becoming extinct while radio and electronic media are unstoppable. Creating dissention or throwing out outrageous topics gets fans to call or log on. The internet is the fastest and best way to guage what or how fans are keying on certain topics.

Interestingly, these forums are much like wiki - anyone can write anything and it's up to the masses or a few "superusers" to decide when to make corrections or perform a little censorship in extreme cases.

Message boards are just faster (normally) at smelling a rat because they're so focused (normally) on a narrow topic.

My husband, who laughs at my "obsession" with Tigerforums, was mentioning that "Snake" on The Ticket (sports radio) in Dallas was always saying how pathetic internet sports boards were the past several years.

I then pointed out that when the Fran e-mail scandal broke the other day, Snake was citing Texags.com as his source for info about the story.

The media really does look @ these boards now.
