I don't think anybody is shocked that Perrilloux doesn't want to redshirt. I think he knows that coming in he has alot of catching up to do, but obviously he feels like he's going to be good enough to get on the field. I'm glad he doesn't want to redshirt. Good for him. If he moves into the #2, or even #1 position, wouldn't you want the best QB on the field? What could happen: Jamarcus Russell could be as spectacular as we know he can be and have a great year. This means the best Perrilloux could do is get into the #2 position. If this is the case, he might redshirt. Jamarcus Russell & Matt Flynn could both struggle and neither be consistent. Perrilloux gets on the field early and becomes, probably at most, rotating in to the #1 position. Personally I think Russell & Flynn will both have good years and all 3 will see time on the field. Russell will be the starter from start to finish of the season. Flynn will see mop up duty and Perrilloux will be used when we need a mobile QB. I don't think Perrilloux will redshirt - he'll get to play in 1 or 2 games, just enough to get him the taste.
