Exactly. Politicians need us more than we need them. They create problems just so they can come up with "solutions" to the problems they created in the first place. More people need to realize that. Laws are written not to protect citizens, but to keep control of citizens. Taxes are raised to keep the middle class down. Benefits are given, at taxpayers expense, to buy votes. Regulations are made to reward one industry at the expense of others.
Zimmerman isn't black. Some of the media don't know what he is. For instance, " CNN.... has set off a controversy over its continued use of the term “white Hispanic” to describe George Zimmerman, the man whose killing of unarmed, black Florida teenager Trayvon Martin set off a national debate about the persistence and nature of racism." Didn't Rick Sanchez work for CNN at one time? Did they ever call him "white Hispanic"? We are a country that likes to blame and find fault. Unless you are on the OJ jury.
This whole thing is just a media made frenzy. To quote my boy snoop, "this type of shit happens all the time" the only reason it is a story is because some station in Florida decided to run a story on it and "clue" us all in.
Now the media has something new to focus on in Duncan, Oklahoma. A racial element, an non-racial element, and a random element. This is f'ed up on all kinds of levels.
Not the media's fault? What about NBC editing the 911 tape to make Zimmerman sound racist? What about the media still calling the Trayvon Martin incident a "stand your ground" case when Zimmerman specifically rejected that line and argued self defense a very different position. What about the media giving Al Sharpton a platform to spew his hatred? What about the media giving the murders of the WW2 vet and Aussie ball player such short shrift? The media isn't totally the cause but it has stirred the pot with its bias.
