If the Saints and Packers have the same record (best in NFC) at the end of the year the Packers would go into the playoff as the 1 seed because they beat the Saints in game one

Yes, that truly would be awesome. I was blessed to be at the Championship game in 2004. Downtown exploded, it was great. I was blessed to be in the city for the Super Bowl game, and the whole city immediately exploded. Putting the two together? I can't even imagine. We'd have to do a parade for LSU as well, not just the Saints. ;)

Chamber of Commerce is pulling for Bama to fill those hotels/motels. Lets look at the big picture and get New Orleans economy rolling folks.

I know you mean this in jest, and that is more than fine, but on a serious note. The LSED looked at the impact of LSU in the BCSNCG and found that there was no negligible difference when we are in it versus someone from the outside. Locals opened their wallets up and people still came into town from other parts of the state. Also, a lot of people from La. are spread all over the country now for a number of reasons that I will not go into here. They come home for the big game and they splurge.

But don't worry, if Bama ultimately in the big game, you will have my support.

People probably don't want to hear this, but I had a free ticket to the 2003 BCS NCG. That connection, which we had forever (Sugar Bowl) no longer existed for 2007 and won't exist should we make it this year. Probably a one time deal for me, but I'll take it. I hope everyone gets to go, no matter how you get there. If you can't get in the stadium, get in the city. It's worth it. It's not campus and it isn't BR, but we outnumbered OU fan 100-1 in the streets, if not more. Everybody came out for the party.

As for the Super Bowl, I had booked the ticket home many months in advance. Why? Mardi Gras. Dumb luck. That's all it was. A blessing, really. So I took the family to the Saints parade at Lee Circle. Very cool. We have a family spot Uptown for the p-rades there. I had the kids on the ladder when Bacchus (Brees) came by. He was throwing special footballs. Threw about 5 on the sidewalk side, but only one on the neutral ground side. G'damned, if he didn't throw that ball right to me as I stood on that ladder. One handed snare of that "pass". Awesome. It's my son's ball for when he is older. For now, it sits in my office with other memorabilia from that year. Blessed man, nothing but blessed. :)
