We need to win this game for multiple reasons. This game, IMO, is the most significant game on our schedule and I'll tell you why:

'Bama already has a loss. We beat Auburn and we are the only unbeaten team left in the SEC with a real good chance to win the West.

A loss puts us behind Auburn for Bowl selection. The winner is in great shape to get a BCS Bowl game. I'll take that for sure.

The winner is still in the hunt for the National Championship. The computers will absolutely love whoever wins this game. A loss and we're out of this discussion.

I would go a step further.

If LSU wins this game, then I truly think we're destined for 14-0.

It's by far our sternest test (see Florida losing at home to MSU and not being the elite victory we thought it was) and if we win, it means once again, the offense came to play and/or that the defense is so stout that we really don't need a great amount of offense to beat anyone we face. And we probably came away with a win on The Plains despite a desperate attempt by the refs to give it to Auburn. That's really saying something.

Except that a win in the Swamp is always a big 'un.

    Yes.

That's why I said it wasn't an "elite" win. It was a big win, no doubt.

    Agreed.

Win this game and everything is in play for us:

Every goal, every championship; every accolade is possible.

Remember both the Tigers and Bama have a bye next week, before we play.

    Yes, but that's forever away.

Our biggest regular season game in quite some time is this Saturday @ Auburn.

the auburn and bama games are of equal importance. we need to beat them both. if we beat AU, and lose to bama, bama will have tiebreaker.

outside of the LSU-AU-Bama head to head triangle, i think the team with the best shot to lose (not counting LSU vs arky) is AU vs UGA (what??)

so if anything bama actually stands the best chance to run table from here out. although some magic could happen vs miss st.

problem is both AU and bama have those at home (UGA, miss st respectively).
