You haven't seen our Tigers play since January, and you went to BED at the beginning of the 3rd quarter?
:dis: Anyway! I have NEVER, that's right, NEVER been a partaker of RP Kool-Aid...but pour me up some right now! He looked awesome! I know it was against a TIRED defense, but he looked so...composed! And yes, his arm was impressive...but I was more impressed by his speed and decision making concerning when to run and where to go when he did it. I'm gonna pi$$ off a lot of people here, but I hope they split time. I don't wanna see him in just when the game is already in hand. I think he can help the first team offense early in the game. This isn't a Leak/Tebow situation...it's WAY bigger than that...it could really work to our advantage. If we were a prolific passing team like last year, I would never suggest a platoon system. But in this offense, I really think it would be effective!
DUDE!! :dis: Third quarter?? :hihi: RP did a great job! I bet that playing time boosted his confidence. Hopefully we'll have VT on their heels by the 4th quarter so we can see him again.
Perrilloux has a presence that Flynn doesn't. I don't have much confidence is Flynn. I hope to heck he proves me wrong, but I think we are going to need Perrilloux to get to the promised land.
Based on what? His 40-3 slaughter of Miami? Or last nights 45-0 reaming of Miss St? His excellent leadership skills? His nimble feet? His strong arm? His 4 years of experience in the program? The fact that the coaches are behind him 100%? What in this world could possibly cause you to lack confidence in Flynn?
Doesn't pi$$ me off but I just disagree. I'm not a believer in a quarterback platoon. Playing every down, one learns the defensive tendencies and can counteract. Seeing a cornerback come up on the down and out routes, then knowing the down, out and up will be open. You might have coaches that can tell the qb that but first hand experence is valuable. I'm also not a fan of the platooning running back situation but when you have so many good ones, it's hard to just play one.
You can be successful either way. Leak/Tebow and Greene/Shockely both come to mind. I wouldn't mind seeing them split time; especially if RP looks as sharp as he did last night. I realize the game was no longer in doubt when he came in, but State still had their defensive starters in the game and they were still playing hard.
If Flynn keeps running the ball all year like he did last night RP will be in the game sooner than later.
I know my ole 40 (almost 41) azz can't hang!!! I did take a LT and drank a few and also have a 2 yr old whose been sick lately....oh yea and a teen to boot!! Any more questions???:hihi:
