    I think it was probably made clear to McCown as to what his roll was on this team. He was brought there with the specific job of helping JR get ready, and if JR is not ready to go week one, he will get to do some on the field mentoring.

    I really do think though that regardless of what Kiffin says, He has every intention of starting JR from game one on.

    They did make some moves to alleviate the situation by signing offensive lineman Cooper Carlisle, Jeremy Newberry and Cornell Green. Even so, still sounds like they are trying to keep the pressure off him about starting right away. My guess is he will be starting by game five. Home game and a few chances to acclimate by then. I just think he is mentally quick enough to get in the game pretty quickly.

    On another note, does anyone know when he is projected to sign? I am sure they want his contract salted away quickly to avoid distractions.
