    .

This past few weeks has been very difficult to go through as a tiger fan. I bleed purple and gold and always will but I am bleeding a LOT MORE than usual as of late. What a difference a year makes.

I know that the near and distant future here at LSU is bright for football but damnit that loss hurt like hell, especially at this point in time.

I am anxious to move on and see the new coach come in.

I can not wait to back him and this young team!!! :geaux: :helmet:

I have to agree with TexasTigers and disagree with you.
The bar had been raised during the Nick Saban era and after last year.

At least in the Hallman era we didn't play in a bowl game and lose it.
I was very depressed during the game and still am some for the following reasons.

    1) the way we lost this game, last second, Matt Flynn?
I really don't want to second guess anyone, the season is over.

    2) the situation with the coaching candidate, I'm not sure about Les Miles?
Hopefully there are a few more known candidates.

Just this whole thing over the last few weeks have come crashing down.
I tip my hat to Iowa, they were real good, consistant, we weren't.

I was a loyal season ticket holder, BUT the difference is we had nowhere to go but up. To go from being SO high to so low in 12 months. Sorry its flat out dissapointing. I have no idea what the future holds, I will renew my season tickets when I get the bill in a month. BUT for me, my feeling is flat out dissapointment. We have reached the mountain top, we finally got now we have recruits dropping left and right some players talking of transfer and we are about to hire Les Miles (Yes you can mark my post I will gladly admit I am wrong). I guess I dont have some gene you guys have, but I am sick to my stomach right now.

    If not Miles, who?

I hear all you say that Miles will be a bad hire, but who else that is available is going to be the best choice? Don't even say Jimbo, he's one of the main reasons that we lost today and that we didn't win at least 1 of the two we lost in the regular season. I've heard Del Rio. Come on fans, do you really think Del Rio is going to leave the NFL to become a college coach? And if he did, how long do you think it would be before he was leaving us high-and-dry? We had a coach who could have been a legend in the college game and he saw a brighter future in the pros. Petrino would have been a good hire. I am embarrased that they even talked to Houston Nutt. What we need is an Offensive minded coach, our D is good and can get better. If Miles is the guy and we are able to retain most of our defensive staff, I think we will do pretty good next year. Right now though, I am sick to my stomach at the inability of our Offense to score points today! All I can say is Good Riddance to Saban and hopefully Jimbo will not be too far behind him!

We are at a HUGE crossroads right now and it is hard to tell which way things will go. We are stacked with talent and have a program built to succeed but every coaching hire is a crap shot.

Even though Petrino was not exactly high on my list, he was at least on top of page 2 instead of the bottom.

when faced with adversity, meet it head on and determine to overcome it. what else can you do? Try to see the glass half full instead of half empty and part of the battle will already be won. Every fan wasn't over joyed with Saban when he came here either. And to be honest, which college or NFL coach can we hire ( be real here ) that is his equal?

Most already have jobs at great schools. Hey WE ( LSU ) might make miles? whoever it is INTO a great Coach. We ( LSU ) helped Saban just as much as he helped us. WHo knows? Did you honestly think BEFORE last season we would win the NC that year?

I am sure Oklahoma wished we would not have, they might be going for their second in as many years if it wasnt for LSU. Who can say> we may just have the "coach" of the year next year. :thumb:

If Miles does become our coach, he will just have to win to shut up the nay-sayers.

Stoops could be hired and there would be a hoard of fans calling for his head if he went 10-1 in his first year.

I never said I was calling for his head, also my dissapointment at this point has very little to do with Miles, that is sort of the icing.

I am talking about Saban leaving then losing a bowl game like that. I am not saying I am not an LSU fan, but the last 2 weeks have been miserable for me as an LSU fan.
The bowl game was a knife to the heart. To be so low most of the game, to so high just to be crushed... thats what sucks..
    The sun will rise tomorrow...
Right now my dissapointment is more about the last 2 weeks with the bowl game being the final blow of misery...
As for the Miles deal, yeh I am dissapointed but right now there is only so much dissapointment to go around.

Texas, I wasn't referring to you specifically.

I am talking from a general perspective. I can easily see Miles winning 9 games next year and having half the site wishing he was fired because of those two losses.

I expect to see another UF situation.
