#5 is better than #14 and when usc, ou and lsu get to the end again, usc could get their feelings hurt a third year in a row. no way a bcs national champ lsu gets left out of the dance, given the respect osu commanded in the media all year long. can you imagine the whining and howling from pete carroll and the usc crybabies if history repeats itself. the talented computer whiz kids and cupcake schedule farks need to get a jump on this and do something really funny.

Take care of OUR business one by one like this year and 10th would be fine with me to start the season.

I really don't see any SEC team ahead of LSU. Georgia is losing key players on D (impact players). Greene may still opt out for the NFL. If that's the case, Georgia should be ranked at about 10.

Ron Zook guarantees Florida 2 losses every year.

Don't know about you but I don't want to be a preseason #1. Let everyone else get all the attention.

Georgia has had several outstanding recruiting years in a row, and Florida killed last year in recruiting. I suspect both will again this year, and so will probably at least Tennessee in the SEC.

LSU barely beat Georgia in Baton Rouge and Ole Miss in Oxford, even with probably the best team it has ever fielded.

The Tigers will probably have a new QB and new WRs.

Let's not get carried away. They have Georgia, Florida, and Auburn away on consecutive weekends (who in friggin' hell made THAT schedule?).

LSU could be better by the end of next year, but try and be realistic.

The human polls can't get it right at the end of the season so how do you expect them to be accurate before the season?

I hope that by next year we are ranked about 15th again, I don't really want the respect, I want our team to earn it every year. They shouldn't even have these stupid polls. As a matter of fact I would say that having us 5th is way too high considering that we are going to probably have a freshman QB, we are losing 2 of our 3 wideouts and 2 starters off of the OL. Hell, we should be ranked 25th. Then start our climb up.

The poster that said UGA shouldn't be ramked that high due to losing a couple of impact players and maybe losing Greene(he's already announced he IS coming back) is not looking at them to hard. They will be loaded everywhere. The are a legitimate top 5 ball club.

It matters little. Makes for good discussion on boards such as this but nothing more. Hopefully, by mid-October the contenders and pretenders will separate. If we're unbeaten at that time we'll be okay in the polls.
