Studies surrounding this idea and the Super Bowl don't support it. In fact, the only increases in domestic violence, which were minor at best, suggest that wins actually result in more violence due to the feeling of empowerment brought on by a win. Domestic violence is typically much worse around holidays like Christmas, Easter, and summer break.
The holidays are when I remember dad smackin mom around. At least til I got big enough to give him a run for his money.
