Southlink02, expound on the Vince Dooley situation for those who aren't familiar. Thanks.

 

Vince Dooley has been UGA's AD ever since he left the job as our Head Coach. He won 3 straight SEC Championships in 1980-1982 and won a National Title in 1980 and almost another in 1981 as our coach.

So....for 20 years he has done a good-decent job as our AD. You know, I came from New Orleans to UGA and didnt know a thing about this guy. Everyone in the state WORSHIPS this guy.

So....a few years ago, UGA hired Michael Adams as our President. An out-of-state Northern who hasnt a real clue on what his powers are. He likes to fiddle with sports, ext....and he and him Dooley NEVER got along. EVER. So...Adams denies Dooleys request to extend his contract which expires in 2004 and EVERYONE IN THIS STATE REVOLT. Everyone is pissed off. It kills people that this man can spit in Dooleys face as they say.

But, its not dividing the UGA nation as so many say. In fact, its just bringing everyone more together. Some say they think its good to get rid of Dooley but no one is dividing this school up. I just dont get any of that talk...
