Good god!! How the heck did Dinardo lose with that team he'd assembled? Trev Faulk, Ro Davey, the Greens, Toefield, Dom. Davis, Josh Reed, Asst. Coaches killed him, IMO, He hires highly qualified assts. and he's still here.
Of course not. As I stated earlier in the "short term" or on the "front end" these coaches bring in a tremendous economical boost during the first three years or so of the honeymoon period. But Saban isn't the only one that has to deliver big time. They all do. Bama fans have bought into what Saban is selling and many are preparing for a rough year this season. We understand that our past behavior has played a big part in where we are and I believe there is some true change going on around the Bama program regarding the fans. But we're not going to win the west this season and most know that and understand that. But we've got some sick talent coming down the pipeline and will soon be developing and hitting the field. But it ain't going to happen over night.
Drop another game this season like the ULL game and Saban will be ran out of town before he gets to a bowl game. Btw, this season will mark what 6 years in a row Bama can't beat LSU. You've had good talent the last few years... but the sad reality so does everyone else... no one is going to roll over for Bama.
The more accurate term is decent talent with no depth. You don't survive the SEC without having depth. That's common knowledge. Are you suggesting that the "pecking order" of the conference has been set in that even though teams (that are in the mid to lower tiers) begin to bring in better coaches and better talent it will be offset by "everyone else" having good talent and coaches resulting in no progress? Or does this only apply to Alabama? No one said anyone is going to "roll over for Bama" but as Saban continues to bring in and develop the talent he has over the past two years I doubt we'll be laying down and putting up white flags either.
What ADs expect for their money is a winning tradition, filled stadiums, a team that is in contention for a conference/national championship on a fairly consistent basis and a championship (either conference or national) at least every few years. All five schools are capable of achieving that.
