Mississippi has a real problem with getting their athletes to qualify academically. And I think if I could only pick one state besides La to recruit, it would easily be Texas and not Mississippi.
One reason is that LSU, Auburn, and Bama regularly skim the cream of the crop in Mississippi before Ole Myth and State can sign them. The second tier recruits are the ones who can play, but can't make grades.
