Uverse sucks in Baton Rouge based on what I have been told so far. Many are getting outages around 5-6 every other night for no apparent reason. Boxes outside the main room not getting recorded shows, etc… I have heard Uverse is much better in N.O.
They also got the deal done with the small cable company consortium, late in the evening of July 31st, as I predicted.
The ATT guy told me that proximity to the main Uverse boxes is the key to getting good signal on telephone wires. I'm only a half a block away. He said if you are a half mile away you can't get the highest broadband speeds and problems are more frequent.
Cox is the best route up here. Too much wind/weather for some rinky dink satellite dish. We were at a BWW one night for an NBA playoff game. Final seconds, Collison on the line for free throws and the damn signal goes out.
Great news! After giving up Sunday ticket for the last 2 years protesting the BS Goodell decision to suspend Payton I'm back on board. That and this will ensure my fall FB fix is in.
ESPN is carried in 98 million homes. SECN, at its launch, is currently at 87 million with Charter yet to officially announce. (I saw someone ask about FIOS as well recently.) The NFL Network, which was reported to be the 2nd biggest sports network at the end of July, reaches 79 million homes. The goal ESPN and the SEC had for its launch was 75 million homes. Forecast: We're going to be looking at athletic department revenues and seeing several schools in the SEC eclipse Texas with their Longhorn Network included in revenue.
