What hurts john brady the most is that he's not really a people person. He doesnt get out a lot and make appearances or kiss the ass of the fans or anything. He doesnt pretend that he loves everything about the fans like some coaches do. Thats fine by me. But the part that hurts is that he isnt 17-4 right now and ranked. When your 17-4 and ranked it doesnt matter how big of a jack ass you are. People will watch and people will be happy. The unfortunate thing for coach is that he's not very fan friendly and he is not winning as much as LSU fans would like. Personally, to me a coach doesnt have to be goody goody with the fans. But some people take the coach personally.

I think it indicates that fans are willing to support a winning program, regardless of gender. I've never been a fan of women's basketball either, but I've been paying attention to the Lady Tigers the last couple of years because it's great to see any LSU team do well.

I have yet to make it to a game at the PMAC, but I suspect that will happen one day soon. Guess you can put me in the idiot category!

Exactly what you are saying is exactly why I am so upset about the state of our basketball program. In basketball at most you need two good players and 5-6 role players (who know and understand their role) and thats it. Look at Syracuse, 1 good player and some role players were able to win the NC. John Brady has not gotten the players to buy into his "system" (if you can call it that). This team does not move without the ball and there is a general lack of imagination in the offense. For example, the end of the Arkansas game, what was that? Inbounds make two or three perimeter passes, no screens set up to free up a three point shooter. It looked like the players were lost and the coach had no concise plan coming out of the timeout. That was absolutely pathetic.

On the womens team you see that they are running designed plays with backscreens and a lot of movement without the ball. I will now describe the mens offensive gameplan. Davis and Bass post up - Remaining three stand around the perimeter. Pass it to each other until the clock shot reads 5 and throw up a prayer three pointer. What the hell? Just infuriating to watch.

A coach like Brady would have been fired at Kentucky after three games. Don't misconstrue me as saying he should be fired right now. I think it should be after the season if he doesn't make the tournament. The excuses are gone now, he must put up or shut up.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was totally baffled by the end of the Arkansas game. You call time out with 16 seconds left to have a desperation three tossed up? It left me scratching my head. There were no screens, no set or designed play to free someone up to try and shoot an open 3-pointer. Usually, with that much time there's at least two or three options if option 1 isn't open. But that looked like a game of hot potato where no one wanted the ball, only to have Hudson jack up a desperation 3. I also totally agree with you about the lack of offensive imagination. It's like 4 guys passing it around the arc and one guy moving across the paint and shoot it before the shot clock expires. When Brady was at Samford, he ran a similar back cutting style offense similar to the ole Princeton teams. He had one good athlete under the basket who's job was to rebound and three guys who could screen and back cut, two of those three who generally were great 3-point shooters and one diminutive point guard that ran a controlled show and could also knock down the three when needed. Right now at LSU, Brady's got all these athletes but can't figure out a style or offense to best utilize and exploit their talents, so it looks disorganized and chaotic a lot of times.

i guess using "idiot" was too strong, but it was late and i couldnt think of a better word.

i certainly dont think that lsu basketball is pathetic. we win more than we lose, and can beat any team we play. it has been like this for several seasons. no reasonable person can ever be so confident that lsu is going to get its "ass beat"---except against uk.

MissingLSU, you're exactly right. Hardly any player has really improved a great deal under John Brady. We've had Stromile Swift, but he was pretty raw. Antonio Hudson was supposed to be a prime-time stud when he got here, but he hasn't been the player everyone thought he would be. I am a diehard Tiger fan that goes to every game, but I really don't want John Brady here at LSU anymore.

TigerPride, I couldn't agree more. I remember when Hudson was a freshman we were all SOOO excited about his potential and couldn't wait to see the development of that potential. Unfortunately, I don't think his play has improved at all. I can just imagine what he would have done with a good coach to work with him and develop his skills. That is why I continue to say that those of us who want Brady gone want it FOR the players most importantly!

Jabari Smith and Ronald Dupre are 2 former players that improved while in college. They are now helping their teams in New Jersey and Detroit respectively. I guess Brandon Bass hasn't improved since last year and Glen Davis isn't as good as he was in high school.

Antonio Hudson is a streaky shooter that very rarely will play hard on defense.
