My Godchild is buried at Arlington. Marine helicopter pilot died in a chopper crash during training near Okinawa. I've been to The Wall. Very moving. Been all through the Smithsonian on 2 different trips. I won a trivia contest once by stumping everyone with the question: Who played Sky King?

I went there just a little over a year ago and will take my family as
    soon as I'm able too.
Arlington, All War Memorials, white house, All Memorials, Capital, Smithsonian, Booths Theatre, room Lincoln died!

If you remember the Statler Bros, I met Phil once...

My uncle by marriage started the group in Lake Worth, Fla, he went to school in Stanton with the 2 brothers I believe.
They sang at another uncle's church in Lake Worth.

My uncle (by marriage) his brother died in Vietnam and the Statler
Brothers wrote a song about him and others entitled

More than a name on the Wall

I LOVE this country, thank you to everyone thats ever served!

I tried to go in the Air Force but it wasn't meant to be and didn't
    work out.

I didn't want to go into any other service.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND EVERYONE :D

Without trying to make this sound like the Old Farts thread I had a 69 VW Bug too. I once drove it from Baton Rouge to Miami on $10 of gas.

I saw Pete play in the "cow palace" and remember people saying "someday we will have more than 3 t.v. stations because of this new advanced technology called cable". I didn't believe 'em. LSU fans rocked then and still do.

I went to almost every home game in the cow palace during Pete's era. Too bad cable hadn't been invented yet so the rest of the country could see the show he put on.

That may actually be possible. There is a place near Altoona, PA where it appears that the road goes uphill but if a car is put into neutral it will start rolling forward. It is an optical illusion
