Dateline Nashville.... New Vanderbilt HC Nick Saban hires Dave Campo as a assistant defensive line coach. $aban said, " We were doing some recruiting in New Orleans and this guy came up out of the dumpster at Brennan's and started muttering incoherently. We were getting nervous around the guy so I tossed him a couple of bucks and told him to beat it. He said, "Nick, don't you recognize me?" It was Dave Campo!! Apparently, he has been living incognito in the French Quarter barely getting by by hawking bootleg copies of "Girls Gone Wild". Nick $aban ended his press conference by stating, "We owe this to all of those Tiger fans and football fans everywhere who lost track of Dave in the last few years." :hihi:

after a quick review of the schedules, it looks like we have to beat msu and bama and only lose two remaining sec games. pretty tall order. one plus is that both msu and bama have to play uk.

bama--loses to @lsu, @msu and uk. ends sec season with 5 losses.

msu--loses to lsu and @uk. ends sec season with 6 losses.

    lsu--loses to uf and @ark
    --beats bama, @msu, vandy, @au, @miss.

i guess the win @ msu isnt necessary. they are a game back and may also lose @ark. but honestly we could lose every remaining game. on the other hand i could see us losing the next two (@ark and @ msu) and then running the table.

my main concern is if we go 10-6 by beating au, miss, ark and vandy. then get a bye in sec tourn, lose second round game to say ut, vandy or ark. we may not get in ncaa. only good win is msu. and that may not end up being so good. the bye may burn us like it did last year.

I thought about that as well. That would put us at 17-11 overall. I think our RPI would be in the 40s, or even low 50s, so that could hurt. The wildcard would be how many at-large slots available ... the more conference tourney upsets, the fewer at-large spots.

I think it would be a first for an SEC team to be left out at 10-6...

Next 4 games will be the key to the season. This team still has not defeated anyone of quality and with the sec being weak this year at most 4 teams get bids, so to have any hope of a bid they need at least 10-6 in conference.
