1. One of LSUs strengths is stopping the run. If we can do that against Ark. (easier said than done) and force them to pass, I like our chances.
  2. Thanks for the post. Good info. The game will never be meaningless. We play for the boot. :dis:
  3. That is one way to beat us. But good thing is we have more weapons this year. Ole Piss with their great linebackers held McFadden in check (less than 100 yards) but still lost by 35. And I know they suck (sorry Ole Miss fans) and am aware that LSU is way better than them, but it's just to show we're not one dimensional. Go Hogs!!:thumb:
  4. Not scared but he's got their attention. McFadden is the best back in the league and Arkansas leads the SEC in rushing (#4 nationally) and is far ahead of the #2 SEC rushing team (LSU).

If Arkansas is allowed to run the ball at will, they will dominate the time of possession. LSU can't score when the offense can't get back on the field.

I don't know, Hawgman. Arkansas is #101 in passing. If LSU can stop the running game, Arkansas has a problem. LSU is the #1 total defense in the country with the #7 pass defense and the #6 rushing defense. I don't see Arkansas passing their way to victory.
  5. Good point. But we really haven't had the need to pass.:)
  6. I agree with Red. When we play the Hogs, we will not get many offensive series because they hold onto the ball and make great time eating drives. We have to eliminate mistakes when we do get the ball and score in the red zone.

I think we can slow down the run but not stop it completly. The LSU D must be patient and wear out the O-Line. Whoever wins the 4th quarter will win the game.
  7. War Memorial, as small and crappy a place it actually is - gets pretty loud. Arkansas's offense probably matches up well against LSU because LSU's blitz packages will not be very effective due to short drops by Ark. QB's. Monk is a beast to cover on those sideline routes because of his height and it is hard to move a safety that far over and still deal with their running game. Ark. has me more concerned than any other game. The things that make me feel better about playing them - our defense is very, very good and second, their defense is not so great, so LSU can score on them so long as LSU does not turn the ball over a ton. All in all, LSU is an overall physically more gifted team than Ark., but Ark. is a very capable team and has a very good chance of winning due to McFadden, Jones and Monk.

All that being said - I will be there and will be visiting my Ark. in-laws who are all making reservations in NOLA for the Sugar Bowl. Nothing would make me happier than to ruin those plans.
  8. theyre pretty damn good. they have a solid d and helluva OL. their loss to so cal was mostly because of turnovers and they smacked auburn in the mouth. they wouldve handled bama better if mustain hadnt thrown 3 picks.

you can never predict mistakes that can determine the outcome--each team is proned to them. and each teams D will hit hard to force them.

both teams will try to stop the run and hit the qb. lsu willl be susceptible to deep passes, like against ut, and ark will break a few long runs. lsu will need several big plays of their own or jr and the wrs need to be sharp to put together several long drives.

in the end lsu has too much, but momentum could play a huge role with all those inbred wackos screaming.
  9. Arkansas is good enough to beat LSU, if LSU can't protect the football when we are on Offense, and/or, if we can't avoid the drive-killing penalties when we are on Offense.

If LSU turns the ball over and gets penalized like we did against Tennessee, then the HOGS will beat us.

Let's beat Bama FIRST, and fix the cochon de lait later.

HOG FANS DO NOT PEEK !!!!!

LSU fans: here's my Master Plan on how to beat the Hogs:

  10. If/when LSU holds McFadden in check, I guarantee you we win. Well, if the refs let us.
