Each year around 400 Texas kids sign out of high school, too many to go around. UT has been getting the best for years, an what was their record this year? Too many things go into recruiting. a&m will do fine in getting players, its what you do with them after they get to college. SEC West, the toughest in the Nation.

Maybe instead of saying "strong contender", I should have called them "solid second tier". Auburn, in my opinion is a team that is relevant every 3 to 4 years and Arkansas has never been what I would call relevant. The piggies can only seem to win the division by default, if Auburn, Bama and LSU all happen to be off in a given year, only to be skull drug by the East champ. Regardless in a normal year both Arkansas and Auburn are strong enough that beating anyone in the league shouldn't be perceived as a shocking upset.

I have to agree the SEC West has got to be by for and away the best division in college football.

Christian LaCouture played at College Station A&M Consolidated in Texas in 2011, before moving to Lincoln. So looks like LSU did get a player out of Tx. this class, in a way.

LSU can and will go into Tx and get kids every year if wanted and needed. The thing to remember, Cory Thompson and Melvin Jones, both their Dads played at A&M, a good friend of mine was on the staff at that time for A&M. Looking at this year, LSU has so far three players from the state of Tx. (Ed Paris, Tony Upchurch and Chris Hardeman). We are still in on a couple more. LSU will continue to hit that state.

As they should. Just too many damn kids to fill the NCAA teams within that state. Hell, Oklahoma has made a fat living out of recruiting the state of Tx. Their current roster has Players from Tx = 24 Players from Ok = 4. That damn state has to be good for something, it may as well be feeding the rest of the college football loving world with talent. Ripe for the pickin I say.

With around 400 kids every year in the state of Tx signing to play football out of high school, LSU will get its share when needed. Last year was a strange one, won't see that one too often if ever. Remember last year, the RB out of Katy, LSU had him if wanted, but passed.
