I went to the grocery store on Saturday, and it was the first time I had been in two weeks. Yes, there was face mask shaming going on. I don't sew...so my mom in Louisiana said she's putting one in the mail for me tomorrow.
Luckily, at my house, we have about 50,000 pony tail elastics, so we may be in business. As for fearing the virus, I have been a teacher for the past 28 years, and if I feared germs, I simply couldn't do my job...because middle schoolers can be some nasty little (and not so little) humans.
Absolutely. So, I am really not scared of getting sick. The first 4 or 5 years I taught, I got sick frequently. But as the years wore on, my immune system built up a good bit. I am scared of the damage to the economy, and now, I am getting sick of alarmists shouting that we should be forced to stay inside, that roadblocks and checkpoints should be set up, and that we'd better get used to a "new normal" in America (whatever that actually means...but I don't want to find out.)
Me too. Though it will be a boon for my industry. I work in mental health and if things don’t turn around pretty quickly, we are going to have a self inflicted massacre on our hands. There are already reports of people committing suicide, and frankly, the Media just “thinks” we don’t have enough ICU beds, wait till they see how little mental health there is available. It’s not going to be pretty.
WOW .... a dude in Russellville AR who was under quarantine for COVID19 and has since been confirmed positive threw a fricken party this last weekend with about 200 people. That is, a dude that KNEW he may be positive threw a big party. I just wonder if he posted a warning sign on the front door telling everyone he was suspected positive. And if somebody dies because of it .... should he be held for negligent homocide.
EXACT same experience here. First several years were miserable, but then I stop getting sick. I am hoping some of that immunity is still with me. I’ve been gone about 3 years.
