Is there an example somewhere in the world where this has worked or is working? I ask only because once upon a time I went looking and didn't find a single real world example where this works. I know you mentioned that you like the Flat Tax, so perhaps we can start there. There are roughly 25 countries that implement the Flat Tax. I can't think of a single one of them that's better off than the US or any other country that uses a Progressive Taxation system. And Mexico? If you're one of the top 1% you have no worries. The government is in your corner and ensures that you stay in the top 1%. There is no middle class. The other 99% are dirt poor, wandering around the desert looking for a fruit tree to pick.
The Govt. doesn't have to take from you, to create a service, and then give it back to you with that service. That $100 bucks you gave them you got $20 of service back. Keep your $100 bucks and buy the service you want. The problem is the 50% of the people that DON'T pay a freaking dime always see this as helping the rich by giving them less taxes to pay. If you lower the tax rate for them it doesn't matter because they still pay ZERO!
So does that mean "No, I can't name a real world example where Cut the services, Cut the taxes, and more people will be better off-style of government", "No I can't name a government that uses the Flat Tax that America should pattern itself after" or "No, I refuse to answer your question so I'll throw out a vague response and hope you won't call me out on it"? I'm confused...
The only problem is that 100 bucks isn't going to get you anything. 99% will go into the CEO's pocket and the other dollar will be divided amongst everyone else.
Your question is pointless. Who cares if nobody is doing it now? No there is no current system using this. Let's just keep doing the same. It's really working for us now.
GE to return $3.2 billion to US Treasury - Yahoo! News I guess that takes GE out of the cross-hairs of the corporation haters for now. I wouldn't be surprised if some other companies followed. Think they will?
